Three 2024 wedding trends actually worth following

Happy New Year!

As time changes, so do we, and as a result, we change time.

With that bit of philosophy out of the way, I want to bring us back to the topic you’re actually here for: the changing times, the trends, the delicious romance.

We see trends everywhere, but which ones are actually worth following? I can’t speak for everyone, but these are some of my favorites:

  • Skip the guestbook and go with a video camera to pass around at dinner, OR get a video guestbook with a video-ready photobooth. It’s an awesome way to capture every moment. Ask your guests to say anything they’d like to the newlyweds: whether a simple congrats, goofy dance, or a little advice, it’ll be a personal touch and forever keepsake! Psst, we have a video photobooth at K.S.Otter Events! ;)

  • Embracing color in décor. Out with dull schemes and in with vibrant, vivid, joy. There’s psychology here: we tend to not notice underwhelming schemes, but you can’t take it too far in the other direction or it’s just chaos. You can go monochrome (having an array of yellows from cream to bold), or multicolor (I recommend picking 2-3 colors, usually complementary colors or ones next to each other on the color wheel).

  • Turning ceremonies into a fun celebration. Let me explain: think back to how many ceremonies you’ve been to. Now ask yourself if you were bored. If you’re lucky, you’ve never had a boring ceremony. But for most of us? We’re usually ready to go to the reception. But what if everyone could have fun instead, cheering you on? Were engaged, and laughing? Check out the Unboring!Wedding channel on YouTube to know what I’m talking about, and you’ll be converted instantly.

And as always, if these aren’t your vibe, the classics are classic for a reason!

In fact, pave your own path— this is your wedding, so it should reflect who you and your spouse are.

Many wishes for an incredible new year,

Katie Sautter
