Q: Do you have travel fees?
Nope! We love traveling! Except:
If your wedding requires a flight, then yes. ‘Cause unfortunately we don’t have unlimited funds to fly to Italy (please take us to Italy, Switzerland, Hawaii, or Bora Bora: first couple to let us to plan their Puglia Italian wedding or German castle wedding will only have to pay our flights and hotel)
Q: Does our wedding have to be eco-friendly?
Nope! Although sustainability is our specialty, we welcome and invite all couples. We’re here to give you tips whether or not you aim to be an eco-warrior or just a regular wedding. We admit, we don’t usually attract the couples who want to burn a tire as a ceremony ritual (Not kidding- someone said this to us. How silly! If they jest, we jest.)
Q: Are you an LGBT-friendly wedding planner?
100%! Love is love. We take this very seriously: we took inclusivity training from The Gay Agenda Co, and we have a listing with the Safe Space Alliance. The Safe Space Alliance offers safe spaces to people in the LGBTQIA+ community. Our listing is a digital space (except on your wedding day of course!).
Q: Are you a certified wedding planner?
Yes! We have certifications through The Union Network (by Jamie Wolfer), The Gay Agenda Collective, and Timeline Genius. Our business is a proud member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, as well as the Certified Wedding Professionals (CWP) Society. These are the largest certification programs in the United States.
Q: How many weddings do you plan per year, and do you have any other events on our wedding day?
We can plan two weddings on the same day, depending on team availability, and we may plan a Friday wedding and a Saturday wedding on the same weekend. We only plan/coordinate 20 weddings per year and book out fast. It's first come first served, so we recommend inquiring as soon as possible.
Q: What does a first planning meeting with you look like?
During our first meeting, we’ll chat about your event priorities and overall vision, then dive into creating a budget that aligns with those priorities. From there, we’ll outline a few key action items to tackle over the next month—don’t worry, we’ll keep it light and fun! We focus on giving you the enjoyable tasks, like picking out a dress or suit, while we handle the nitty-gritty details.
Q: Can we meet in-person?
Maybe! It depends on your location and situation. We love meeting in-person with our planning couples for the first planning consultation as well as the final venue walkthrough. We are also happy to meet with you virtually. Our full-service planning clients are allotted more time (especially for venue tours and tastings), so we can meet more often for that package. All conversations prior to booking with us are virtual / over the phone. Otherwise, we mostly work with Google Meet.
Q: Do you work with specific vendors, or can we choose our own?
We work with everyone! We do have a list of trusted vendors we know, like, and trust, as well as a list of preferred vendors who are actively offering special deals and packages to our couples.
Q: Are you licensed and insured?
We are licensed through the NC Dept of Revenue (you can find our business name registered with the NC Secretary of State as K.S.Otter Events), and we are insured through NEXT insurance.
Q: Do you have a backup plan if, on wedding day, your lead coordinator can't make it due to an emergency?
Absolutely. In case of emergency, we always have a backup coordinator. This coordinator is always trained and is someone we trust- it's never someone's aunt Susie! Your wedding is in good hands with us.
Q: Do you have a team?
We are building one actively. We will update our website the moment we have our own army (Oops, we mean planners and assistants).
