Honest Review of Azazie Bridesmaid Dresses
As a North Carolina wedding planner based in the Piedmont Triad, I want to make sure I can make informed recommendations to my couples. I'm sharing an honest review of Azazie bridesmaid dresses, including the highs, lows, and a surprise at the end of this post that you won't want to miss!
A few years back, I was thrilled to be a bridesmaid for one of my close college friends. What I wasn’t expecting (and what the other bridesmaids weren’t expecting!) was an Azazie dress journey of unexpected twists and turns.
The bride asked me to order a dress from Azazie in Stormy grey (her palette was all neutral, earthy tones- primarily stormy grey and sage – beautiful!).
Unlike some of the other bridesmaids who tried on a bunch of dresses, I just went for my favorite online (called Cora).
At checkout, I decided against going with custom sizes, because I wouldn’t be able to return it if I didn’t like it.
That was my first mistake.
Azazie dresses, while nice, are stupid-long. And the cup size was very, very generous (I’m a DD cup, so being “too small” was super shocking to me).
Turns out, the other bridesmaids had the same issue. One smart bridesmaid did a custom order, and hers turned out great!
My second mistake was thinking I had enough time to return it and also order the custom size.
As I stood in my bedroom, practically swimming in my dress, holding my phone to my nose trying to figure out how to return it, I found out that it takes 6+ weeks for the custom size to arrive, and I only had 8 weeks until the wedding.
~~Panic time!~~
I had to go to a seamstress, which cost me an extra $150 to make the dress fit right.
Afterwards, the dress fit like a glove (seamstresses & tailors are amazing!).
Avoid my mistakes with the following tips:
1) Plan early. Order your dress at least 5-6 months before the wedding. It takes time for custom orders, so don't wait!
2) Go Custom: If you find a style you love, go for custom sizing. It'll save you time and money. No tailor needed!
So after all that, what do I think?
Honestly, I think Azazie is great.
The issues were more my fault than theirs. The dress turned out fantastic once I got it sorted.
Overall, the quality was good (the other bridesmaids agreed!), and I think I can wear it to a formal, black-tie event in the future (I don’t think it’s good for anything less than black tie due to its length & formality).
In fact, it inspired me to seek affiliate programs with Azazie, because I was hoping to give my couples a worthwhile discount for their crew.
So here are the details for my shiny new Azazie affiliation:
Using my link or reference code, (Click here! Or, code is 2FA4D656 under “My Account” > “My Reference”) you get the following perks:
1) Stack multiple discount codes. Example: You can combine 20% off and 15% off if you want! I don’t have those codes, so you’ll have to do a little research (codes change too often to put in my blog!).
2) This link also gives you $2 off per dress (lol wow, I know). So really—the whole “stacking discount codes” thing is the big perk!
Act now – this link is valid for 90 days after clicking. It's a win-win—savings for you and support for my small business. ^_^
I hope my story helps you with your bridesmaid dress adventure!
