One thing your vendors wish you knew

If you’re laid back, don’t know what you want, and think, “I’m sure they see plenty of bride- and groomzilla’s, so I’ll just be easygoing here. I’ll just let the vendor choose.”

Then this article applies to you.

And honestly? It applies to me too. I went to my florist like, “Hey there, uhm. So this is my color palette. This is my wedding date. Halp pleeze idk anything.” So I get it. And look, that’s super valid. If you really don’t know anything (most of us don’t!), it’s okay to defer to your vendor’s expertise.

But what your vendors want you to know is that it’s awesome when you know what you want.** This gives them a clear idea of exactly how they can service you best. Knowing what you want means that the vendor doesn’t have to feel nervous: there’s no “What if they don’t like what I choose?” No doubts, no worries. It also helps them manage their time better, which helps them serve you better!

**But there is a line here. If you have an idea in your head that you want the vendor to do, and they can’t do it, it’s not fair to push them. They’re people too, and they want to help you. If that’s you (congrats on knowing what you want btw), then take a step back and ask, “Is there any way we can do something similar? Are there alternatives? What is your professional opinion/advice?”

With love,
